The Looking Glass Artist Collective of Salisbury, Inc. was founded in March 2008 to provide an opportunity for creative people of Salisbury N.C. to share space, resources and ideas. Members include visual artists, musicians, actors, writers, dancers and others. The name "Looking Glass" was chosen because of the belief that in our art we see ourselves, and in a collective what we do reflects on each other.
LGAC is located at 405 North Lee Street in Salisbury's Rail Walk Arts District. The facility includes classroom and lesson space, art gallery, a black box theater, and retail space for sale of member's art, crafts, books, CDs and DVDs. The facility is available for rent.
There is no salaried staff. The organization is run by members of the collective.
LGAC also hosts Lee Street Theatre.
