Salisbury-Rowan County offers an ample selection of choices for some of North Carolina’s best outdoor recreation. The Yadkin River Trail is one of North Carolina’s favorite canoe and kayaking paths and connects to High Rock Lake. High Rock and Tucker Town Lakes provide excellent fishing and boating opportunities. Don’t worry if you don’t have a boat, boating supplies and rentals are available at Tamarac Marina.
Eagle’s Nest and Dunn’s Mountain Nature Preserves offer beautiful hiking, eco-exploration and bird watching prospects. Salisbury-Rowan County has a total of 24 North Carolina parks, featuring a variety of playgrounds, walking trails, bicycle routes and paths, as well as a Disc Golf course
The North Carolina Quarter Midget Speedway has a busy weekend racing season April through November. There is plenty of opportunity for personal athletic activities, e.g. biking, fitness, golf, swimming and boating or fishing year-around in Salisbury-Rowan County.
