Cheerwine Centennial Celebration
Cheerwine is 100 years old and throwing a birthday party in Downtown Salisbury! North Main Street (the two blocks from Council to Kerr) will be shut down for the outdoor festival to thank customers and fans for their support of the Southern soda for the past century. The party will feature free Cheerwine, live bands, a barbecue cook-off (12-2 p.m.), family-friendly activities, Rowan museum tours with a special Cheerwine exhibit and merchandise for sale, and more! The event is free to the public to enjoy. The celebration will be from 12-8 p.m.

The Kannapolis Intimidators will host the Hickory Crawdads at 7:05 p.m. for Faith & Family Night! Friends from local churches and faith communities are invited to experience a night of fun and fellowship.

3rd Annual Great Berry Ride

For the third year, cyclists from all over will challenge themselves by riding through the beautiful, scenic landscape of Rowan County. This unique ride begins at Patterson Farm Market & Tours, Inc. during strawberry season. After the ride, cyclists and their families can enjoy picking strawberries and other activities at Patterson Farm Market & Tours, Inc. This ride event has been tailored to suit riders of all skill level and all types of bicycles. The ride will be fully supported with SAG vehicles, mechanical support, rest stops, and crossing guards at busy intersections. Lunch will be provided.

Bernard Lawrence has devised an ingenious system for juggling three different girlfriends; all of which are stewardesses on international aircrafts. Watch as Bernard gets himself into a sticky situation when his 3 girlfriends are all in the same place and his fellow journalist is trying to steal his life. Show begins at 7:30 p.m.
Legends By Lantern Tour
North Carolina Transportation Museum
Enjoy a nighttime walking tour of the NC Transportation Museum from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. exploring the historic structures of Spencer shops. Legends by Lantern tours will feature stories of North Carolina railroad legends, and tales of Spencer shops that defy reason and logical explanation. The 90 minute tour includes a behind the scenes, after hours view of the Bob Julian Roundhouse restoration bays, the site of numerous strange occurrences.
A Sense of Place
Waterworks Visual Arts Center
Enjoy A Sense of Place, an exhibit at Waterworks Visual Arts Center. The exhibit features Harriet Hoover's Family Fruit, Ann Marie Kennedy's New Work and a selection of contempory Southern photography titled The Do Good Fund. The exhibit is free and open during 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday, then 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Historic Salisbury Trolley Tour
Rowan County Visitors Center
Take a ride through Historic Downtown Salisbury and let our narrators guide you by historic sites such as the original Cheerwine building, the Salisbury National Cemetery and the site of the only prison in North Carolina during the Civil War. You will also see film locations of popular movies and TV shows and hear a ghost story or two. Discover shopping, restaurants, theaters and plenty of public art. Enjoy learning about the city's past and how it has influenced the present on a F&M Bank Trolley every Saturday from April - October. This one hour tour begins at 11 a.m. at the Rowan County Visitors Center.

Salisbury and Rowan County Farmers' Market

Home to the best local produce in Rowan County, the Salisbury and Rowan County Farmers' Market has a wide variety of products from lettuce and asparagus in the spring, corn and tomatoes in the summer to pumpkins and squash in the fall. You expect fresh produce and fruits, but did you know they also have local meat, eggs, flowers, bread, and other baked goods? The market will be open from mid April to mid December on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the corner of S. Jackson and W. Fisher. You can find live music, kid activities and food demonstrations every week!

How the West Was Won: Trains and the Transformation of Western NC
North Carolina Transportation Museum
"How the West Was Won: Trains and the Transformation of Western NC" tells the story of the coming of the railroads after the Civil War and the impact they had on the life, economy, culture, folklore, music and landscape of the mountains. Using videos, narratives, historic photos and artifacts, visitors can view the history of rail in Western NC and learn about the high drama in construction, the dangers of building a railroad grade and the despair that came with the loss of so many lives on the railroad. The NC Transportation Museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday, from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday and closed on Monday.
Salisbury Sculpture Show: Discover What's Inside
The Annual Salisbury Sculpture Show features nineteen sculptures by talented artists. Sculptures may be seen around Downtown Salisbury and at three college campuses Catawba College, Livingstone College and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
