A Night at the Cirque

Enjoy A Night at the Cirque! This live theatre and dinner experience is a one-of-a-kind black tie gala. A Night at the Cirque features cocktails, dinner, dancing, and live performances by Cirque de Vol, a circus arts studio out of Raleigh. Acts include stilt walkers and acrobats during cocktail hour, culminating in a cirque showcase featuring aerial silks, lyra, trapeze acts, juggling, and more during dinner. The themed menu boasts passed appetizers, entrees that include beef tenderloin and adobe roasted shrimp, and of course, plenty of delectable desserts. A full bar will also be available.

Tiger World's Wild Easter Egg Hunt

Bring the family to the 9th Annual Wild Easter Egg Hunt! There will be prizes, giveaways and Easter candy for all children. There will be Easter eggs "hidden" all through out the park, so don't forget your basket or bag! The Wild Easter Egg Hunt is for children 10 and under, and is open to the first 200 children. The fun begins at 1 p.m. and is free with park admission.

Spring Photowalk
North Carolina Transportation Museum
Details:

All aboard! This year, the NC Transportation Museum will host Rowan Public Library’s spring photowalk. Aspiring photographers of all ages and skill levels are invited to attend this event from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Participants must bring their own camera (phone cameras are fine) and are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing. The group will meet at the Barber Junction Visitor’s Center at the NC Transportation Museum, and then begin exploring the historic property. After the event, participants will have the option to submit photos from the walk. Select photos will also be printed and displayed at RPL Headquarters in Salisbury during the month of May.

Frozen is a 2013 musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Snow Queen", the film tells the story of a fearless princess who sets off on a journey alongside a rugged iceman, his loyal pet reindeer, and a naïve snowman to find her estranged sister, whose icy powers have inadvertently trapped the kingdom in eternal winter. The move begins at 1:00 p.m. with karaoke following directly after. North Carolina Transportation Museum
Details:

The NC Transportation Museum will host a day long steam excursion on the iconic Class J #611 for the second year in a row to Virginia, and morning and afternoon trips to Charlotte and Greensboro! Travel in historic style, behind a genuine 1950's era steam locomotive and engine that represents the height of steam engine technology. Boarding begins in Spencer to Virginia at 6 a.m. on April 8, to Charlotte at 7 a.m. on April 9 and to Greensboro at 2 p.m. on April 9.

At The Throttle: Steam
North Carolina Transportation Museum
Details:

At the Throttle: Steam is back at the NC Transportation Museum. You can power down the tracks behind the Lehigh Valley Coal #126 and learn how to run a vintage steam locomotive. As a participant, you'll enjoy a one-on-one training session and 1/2 hour of "at the throttle" time. No previous locomotive experience is required.

"How the West Was Won: Trains and the Transformation of Western NC" tells the story of the coming of the railroads after the Civil War and the impact they had on the life, economy, culture, folklore, music and landscape of the mountains. Using videos, narratives, historic photos and artifacts, visitors can view the history of rail in Western NC and learn about the high drama in construction, the dangers of building a railroad grade and the despair that came with the loss of so many lives on the railroad. The NC Transportation Museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday through Saturday, from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday and closed on Monday.
